Nottingham Forest could land £30m ace this summer

Over the last couple of seasons, Forest have been very erratic with their dealings in the transfer market, signing a whole host of players to try and compete in England’s top flight.

However, this summer there has been an emphasis on quality over quantity, with a move for Porto’s Brazilian striker Evanilson an example of the calibre of player the club are targeting this window.

Journalist Romano confirmed earlier this week that the Reds had a proposal for the 24-year-old rejected, with fellow English side Bournemouth also interested in his services.

His quality is evident with his tally of 16 goal contributions in his 27 appearances in the Liga Portugal last season – with any deal expected to cost around the £30m mark.

While he would be another expensive addition for Evangelos Marinakis, he would certainly be an upgrade on the current options at the top end of the pitch, whilst also aiding one player currently plying his trade at the City Ground.

Why Evanilson would make Danilo unplayable for Forest

Brazilian midfielder Danilo has been an important part of the Forest squad after his £17.8m move from Palmeiras during the January transfer window back in 2023.

His best run of form came at the back end of the same campaign, scoring in three consecutive matches, including the victory over Southampton – which included a delightful assist from Morgan Gibbs-White.

Danilo’s rapid rise hasn’t gone unnoticed, with Manchester United registering interest in the 23-year-old, but it’s highly unlikely that the youngster will be leaving the City Ground this summer.

He would form an excellent partnership with compatriot Evanilson, with his ball-playing ability falling straight into the hands of the centre-forward should he move to the City Ground.

In the Premier League last season, Danilo registered a total of four goal contributions, whilst averaging 4.2 progressive passes per 90 – including 3.7 passes into the final third.

The former Palmeiras ace loves to play the ball into attacking areas where possible and with Evanilson the type of striker to run the channels, his movement could allow Danilo to pick out his compatriot and provide him with frequent opportunities in front of goal.

The midfielder also likes to beat a man himself, averaging 1.1 progressive carries per 90 last season, completing 65% of the take-ons that he attempted – showcasing his desire to progress the play and allow the attacking talents to create chaos.

Whilst a deal for Evanilson may be an expensive one, he would provide a consistent source of goals – crucial in the club’s attempts to avoid a third successive relegation battle.

He would be the next in a long line of Brazilians to make the move to the City Ground, following in the footsteps of Danilo and Murillo in being a fan-favourite on Trentside if he can produce the goods in front of goal.

With Sosa also looking set to arrive in the building, the Ttricky Trees' forward line could take on an exciting new look this season.

وبسؤاله هل المقارنة مع سيد عبد الحفيظ ظلمتك؟، أوضح: “بالتأكيد، لأنه استمر لفترة طويلة جدًا مدير كرة، وعمل وأخطأ وتعلم، وطبيعي جدًا فرق الخبرات بيني وبينه كبيرة، من المفترض عدم المقارنة بين 11 عاما عمل فيهم وبيني أنا عملت لمدة عام، تفاصيل العمل في إدارة الأهلي كبيرة جدًا”.

وبشأن ما تردد عن عدم سيطرته على اللاعبين وأنهم كانوا يظهرون في الإعلانات، أجاب: “لا يوجد لاعب ظهر في أي برنامج إلا وحصل على موافقة من النادي، أنا هُوجمت قبل أن أعمل، لا شك أن قطاع عريض كان يُحب سيد عبد الحفيظ واعتادوا عليه، هو لديه كاريزما وشخصية مختلفة”.

وأشار: “أنا لدي أسلوب مختلف عنه، أي تجربة في النهاية المهم نتائجها، ليس من الممكن أن أكون حققت كل النجاحات هذه خلال فترتي وفي النهاية يكون هناك خلل كما يُقال”.

وواصل: “أنا كنت أحارب كثيرًا، لأنني لم يكن عندي ظهير، وأنا لم أستطع أن ـفعل ذلك، لأنني تعلمت أن أعمل جيدًا وأبذل مجهودا، لذلك أنا لم أفشل، أنا رحلت ولم أفشل في أي شيء”.

وزاد: “وما هي الظواهر التي حدثت بناءً عليها يقولون أنني لم أكن مسيطرا؟ هل لأن لاعبا كان يخرج من المباراة وهو (زعلان)؟ طيب الآن اللاعبين يخرجون وهم زعلانين، أنا لم يحدث خلال فترتي أن لاعبا ضرب لاعب آخر، ولم تحدث مشكلة كبيرة مع أي لاعب، أنا كنت مسيطرا على اللاعبين بأسلوبي أنا”.

وبشأن هل كان مفروضا على كولر؟، أوضح: “طبعًا هو لا يعرفنا، كولر مسؤول عن الأمور الفنية فقط، لكن الجانب الإداري ليس له علاقة به، ونحن كنا نساعده، الاختيار الذي يمثل الإدارة في الفريق يكون اختيار الإدارة نفسها، وفي النهاية حققت نتائجا جيدة، لو أنا كنت عكس ذلك لم نكن سنحقق تلك النتائج”.

According to Football Insider, Aston Villa, and by extension NSWE, have now contacted Crystal Palace about signing Jean-Philippe Mateta this summer, having previously only reached out to the Frenchman's camp over a potential move. The striker burst into life last season to become one of the surprise standouts in the second half of the campaign and may soon earn a big move as a result with contact now made.

The deal won't be an easy one to negotiate, however, with Palace reportedly adamant that their star striker is not for sale. After already losing Michael Olise earlier this summer, the Eagles can ill-afford to lose another one of Oliver Glasner's most important players ahead of his first full campaign.

"Great" Mateta can replace Duran

A player who can replace Duran and keep up with Watkins enough to provide Unai Emery with the ultimate alternative option, Mateta could be an intelligent signing at Villa Park this summer. With Champions League football to balance, adding another goalscorer could quickly prove to be the key to unlocking yet more historic nights in the Midlands.

With Rangers making good use of free transfers during the window so far, the club could now be set to spend big on a target that Clement had previously rejected.

£3m striker back on Rangers' target list

As first reported by The Daily Record, Lawrence Shankland's name has returned to Rangers' list of targets for this summer. The outlet understands that Clement had previously voiced his opposition to bringing the striker to Ibrox in January but now appears to have U-turned on this position.

The report goes on to state that an official bid for Shankland could be made before the Scottish Premiership season starts again on August 3rd. The 28-year-old is now in the final 12 months of his current deal at Hearts and could fetch a fee in the region of £3million if he is to leave the club this summer.

Rangers' continued interest in Shankland is warranted with the striker's impressive campaign last season catching the eye of numerous clubs in Scotland and beyond. The 28-year-old found the back of the net 24 times in the league last season, eight more than that of the Gers' top scorer Cyriel Dessers.

Speaking on Shankland's success at Hearts, his current manager Steven Naismith spoke highly of the player telling the press: "It’s incredible. He’s had plaudits and people have talked throughout the season but I don’t think people will really understand it for a few years until it has been and gone and someone else is scoring goals.

“Hearts did a lot to get him here and then put their faith in him that he was going to be good. He has been a brilliant pro, a good leader, and his goal record over the two seasons here is unbelievable."

With Rangers needing to sell existing players before they can make new signings this summer, Shankland's move to Ibrox will likely rely upon one of the Gers' current stars leaving the club first.

Primeiro tempo equilibrado e Verdão desperdiçando possibilidades

A primeira etapa começou da maneira que se esperava, com os ingleses propondo o jogo e os brasileiros esperando na defesa. Mas foi o Alviverde que arriscou o primeiro chute, aos três minutos, com Danilo, que ficou com a sobra da defesa e tentou o arremate, mas o desvio foi para escanteio. Aos nove, Rony buscou jogada individual, mas finalizou de forma muito errada para fora.

Enquanto isso, o Chelsea tinha dificuldade para furar a defesa palmeirense, que embora se virasse de todas as formas para afastar, não levou tantos sustos. No ataque, aos 26 minutos, o Verdão quase abriu o placar, quando Dudu recebeu pela esquerda, cortou para o meio e chutou na saída de Mendy, mas a bola foi para fora na melhor chance do primeiro tempo para as duas equipes.

Aos 31 minutos, Mount sentiu e Pulisic entrou, melhorando o volume do Chelsea. Três minutos depois, Lukaku quase abriu o placar com um bate e rebate na área que ficou com o goleiro alviverde. Aos 43, Zé Rafael teve uma grande chance de tocar no meio da área em contra-ataque, mas errou o passe. Já no fim, Thiago Silva teve grande liberdade no meio e arriscou de longe para Weverton defender. Foi a melhor chance do clube inglês na etapa inicial.

Chelsea abre o placar, mas o Palmeiras empata de pênalti

O segundo tempo parecia começar como estava sendo o cenário do primeiro, mas o Chelsea acabou retornando como mais intensidade nos primeiros minutos e arriscou com chute de longe de Rudiger aos 3. No entanto, aos 9, em uma das raras falhas da defesa, Kovacic encontrou Hudson-Odoi com espaço para cruzar e achar Lukaku, que subiu mais do que a zaga e abriu o placar.

O Palmeiras sentiu o gol e quase tomou o segundo quando Pulisic tabelou com Lukaku e chutou de forma perigosa. No entanto, aos 15, Thiago Silva colocou a mão na bola dentro da área e o VAR apontou pênalti. O Alviverde ainda tentou algumas estocadas, mas sem sucesso, enquanto o Chelsea levava vantagem nas tabelas na entrada da área. Mas o empate persistiu no tempo normal.

Cenário não se altera na prorrogação e Chelsea faz de pênalti para o título

A situação pouco mudou para o primeiro tempo da prorrogação, ou seja, Chelsea se apossou do campo de ataque e da boal, enquanto o Palmeiras ficou retraído esperando um contra-ataque. No entanto, foram poucas as chances que o time de Abel Ferreira teve para poder sair da defesa como gosta.

No segundo tempo da prorrogação, os Blues passaram a pressionar demais e num bate e rebate na área Luan acabou colocando a mão na bola e o VAR aponto pênalti. Na cobrança, Havertz bateu e superou Weverton para fazer 2 a 1 no placar e conquistar o título mundial, que mais uma vez não foi alviverde.
